Description
Inscribed hoptonwood stone with carved lettering designed and cut by Joseph Cribb. Cribb was a member of Eric Gill's Guild of St Joseph and St Dominic, and this stone had been set into the wall of the weavers' cloister since before 1959. The text is particularly apt for a group of Utopian craftworkers trying to lead a 'good life' in the country.
