It portrays Lord Nelson upon his ship, being supported upright by two officers as he has fallen limp through injury, dropping his sword on the deck. A cannon sits nearby and a long inscription adorns the bottom of the scene. 1805

Admiral Lord Nelson mortally wounded by a musket ball in the ever memorable Victory off Trafalgar on 21 Oct - 19 sail of the enemy struck their colours, 1 blew up in action, 13 ran away & 4 of them were afterwards captured by Sir Richard Strachan off Ferroll 1 Nov 1805.
