Description
A neolithic polished stone axehead found at Salterley Grange, Coberley, Gloucestershire. The cutting edge is broad and rounded and the sides taper in to form a narrow butt end. Symmetrical cross-section. Made from a fine, highly polished dark, grey green stone, which has been identified as a tuff, provenanced to the Great Langdale area in the Lake District, petrological Group VI.
