- DescriptionAncient Egyptian blue faience amulet depicting Re-Harakhty, the god who embodied the characteristics of two other gods; Re, the creator sun god, and Horus, the earliest state god in Egypt. He wears the sun disc of Re and has the hawk body of Horus. Amulets were often wrapped up in the bandages of a mummy and helped to protect the wearer from magic spells and charms.
