Description
'Maureen’ figure, designed by Leslie Harridine and made by Royal Doulton, Stoke-on-Trent, 1936-59. Slip-cast bone china with painted decoration. This figure shows the fashion in the 1930s and post-war period for Edwardian style figures. Arthur ‘Leslie’ Harradine was one of Royal Doulton’s most important figure modellers from the 1920s to the 1950s. He worked for them on a freelance basis, creating his models in his studio at home. It’s said that his monthly packages of figurines were always eagerly awaited by the team at Royal Doulton.
