Description
A First World War food ration book, issued under the Rationing Order of 1918, covering the period 14 July to 27 October. With retailers stamps on the front for P.M. Nash, High Street, butcher; Maypole Dairy, 119 and half High Street , Cheltenham, fat and other goods; George Mason, 101 High Street, Cheltenham, sugar and bacon. The retailers details are on a separate 'Removals' page adhered to the booklet, which had an address in Cleevedon, Somerset. An additional 'Removals' sticker on the front page states that the holder has complied with the removals procedure. A thin booklet with most of the original 5 pages removed as coupons have been cut out. Issued to A. H. Greene.
