Description
Rectangular dining table with a yew top and laburnum base designed by Gordon Russell and made by Adriaan Hermsen. The top was made from an ancient yew tree felled in Kingcombe, Russell's house near Chipping Campden. There are plum-coloured blooms caused by medieval nails embedded in the tree. The legs are made of laburnum. This was one of the last pieces of furniture designed by Gordon Russell. His aim was to use the best hand and machine work to produce a piece of furniture of a higher quality than either could do alone.
