Description
Chinese executioner's sword. 19th century, OAL 1011mm. Blade: steel, L. 688mm, heavy, slightly curved, single edged widening near the point to form a false yalman. Marred by file marks. Hilt: sreel, angled "S" shaped cross guard riveted to blade. Grip is possibly wood over the tang wrapped in coarse tri-coloured (white, blue and brown) cloth tape. Large ring pommel also wrapped in the same cloth tape. Scabbard: wood wrapped in cloth and painted black.
