Lord Nelson Wounded

Engraving, A colour engraving laid on glass titled Lord Nelson Wounded. It portrays Lord Nelson upon his ship, being supported upright by two officers as he has fallen limp through injury, dropping his sword on the deck. A cannon sits nearby and a long inscription adorns the bottom of the scene. 1805

Admiral Lord Nelson mortally wounded by a musket ball in the ever memorable Victory off Trafalgar on 21 Oct - 19 sail of the enemy struck their colours, 1 blew up in action, 13 ran away & 4 of them were afterwards captured by Sir Richard Strachan off Ferroll 1 Nov 1805.
