Beschreibung
Axehead, neolithic polished stone axehead found at Birdlip, Gloucestershire. The cutting edge is broad and the sides taper in to form a narrow butt end. Made from a dark, grey green stone, which has been identified as a tuff, provenanced to the Great Langdale area in the Lake District, petrological Group VI. From the collection of George Backhouse Witts.
