Beschreibung
A neolithic polished stone axehead found at Horse and Groom Inn, Upper Oddington, Gloucestershire. The cutting edge is very rounded, and the sides taper in only slightly to the rounded butt end. Symmetrical cross-section. Made from a fine, very dark, grey green stone, which has been identified as a greenstone provenanced to near Marazion in Cornwall, petrological Group III. One face with erosion or natural pitting in the stone.
