Beschreibung
A neolithic polished stone axehead found at Overton Farm, Cranham, Gloucestershire. The cutting edge is broad and quite straight and distinctly angled; the sides taper in steeply to form a very narrow, rounded butt end. The sides of the axehead are faceted and the whole has a symmetrical cross-section. Made from a fine, highly polished grey green stone, which has been identified as a tuff, provenanced to the Great Langdale area in the Lake District, petrological Group VI.
