Beschreibung
A neolithic polished stone axehead found at Andoversford, Gloucestershire. The cutting edge is of squared form and the sides taper in to form a narrow butt end. The axe has an asymmetrical cross-section. Made from a fine-grained brown stone, which has been identified as porcellanite, provenanced to Tievebulliagh, Northern Ireland, petrological Group IX. From the collection of George Backhouse Witts.
