- DescriptionAxehead, a neolithic polished stone axehead from Leckhampton, Gloucestershire. Elongated in form with a very rounded cutting edge and straight sides that taper in to form a narrow, squared butt end. The axehead has a symmetrical cross-section. Made from a fine-grained, stone of very dark grey colour. Source of rock unknown, but identified as a porphyritic rhyolite.
