Description
Porcelain jar with lid by William Howson Taylor of the Ruskin Pottery, with sang-de-boeuf glaze. There was great secrecy about this glaze. Pots glazed with this and other flambe glazes were fired in a separate 'red kiln' and only Howson Taylor mixed the glaze.
