A lapel badge made of gold-coloured metal, in the form of a roundel and bar, with an attached safety pin. The front of the badge is enamelled in pale blue, black and gold, with the gold and black lettering "Cheltenham Steeplechase Club, 1936" and "1591". The badge is contained in a black presentation box with a hinged lid and is pinned to a pale brown backing paper with the lettering in black ink "Cheltenham Steeplechase Club, 1936", Member's Badge (Not Transferable)" and "W.O. Lewis (Badges) Ltd, Birmingham." The box lid has on the front an adhered white paper label with the black ink lettering "Cheltenham Steeplechase Club, 1936. Lady Member's Annual Pass, No. 1591". The box was originally sealed with a blue paper tape, with the black ink lettering "The Member's Badge is Not Transferable Under Any Circumstances". Inside the lid is an adhered white paper label printed in red ink, with the words "Special Notice to Members. All passes, other than ladies transferable passes, are strictly personal and must not be used by any person other than the Member."
