Letter from G M Trevelyan to Emery Walker. Found in History of England by George Macaulay Trevelyan. The letter is undated but the book to which it almost certainly refers was published in 1925.

This is to introduce my friend – the Rev Arthur J Whyte[i] – who is bringing out some very interesting letters of Cavour’s[ii] with a short biographical study of his youth, for the Oxford Press. If you can help him he would greatly appreciate it.

[i]A basic Google search has identified Rev Arthur J Whyte as an author. He wrote a book on the poet Browning entitled ‘Sordello’ which was published in 1913, as well as the one below.
[ii]Rev Whyte also wrote a biography of the early life of Count Camillo Benso of Cavour (1810 – 1861), an Italian statesman and a leading figure in the country’s unification, published in 1925. In 1930 he published a follow-up biography,
[iii]Sir George Macaulay Trevelyan (1876 – 1962). The historian’s ‘History of England’ was published in 1926. CAW]
