Descripción
Walnut cabinet with ebony and holly stringing designed by Peter Waals. One of the drawers is marked underneath in ink with Waals's name and the date 1931. The cabinet seems to have been commissioned by the Gloucester College of Education as a memorial to Mary Elizabeth Playne, who founded the Gloucester School of Cookery in 1890 and was Chairman of the Governors of the College of Education from 1893 to 1909. It is known as the 'Playne Memorial Cabinet'.
