Watercolour drawing of a Romanesque bronze bowl of the 12th century. Actual bowl in the British Museum having been found in the bed of the River Severn, in Gloucestershire, around 1824, whilst constructing one of the piers of the Haw Bridge. Drawing by C.D. Waterhouse, a draughtsman at the British Museum in the 1920's where the bowl is housed. Depicted on the bowl are Cadmus and the Labours of Hercules.
