Description
An unusual spearhead of the Later Bronze Age (Broadward Complex). Made from copper alloy, the patina has been removed so it has a brassy colour. A broad leaf-shaped blade which ends in two barbs. Prominent mid-rib and round-sectioned socket which has some slight damage. At this point the socket has two perforations in the same plane as the blade, to allow fixing with a peg. Dredged from the River Severn near Diglis Lock, Worcester in 1844. Part of the collection of the antiquary Jabez Allies.
