Regency settee, about 1830. This type of elegantly curved sofa was based on ideas about classical Greek design. Thomas Hope published a drawing of a similar piece in his 'Household Furniture and Interior Decoration' of 1807 and manufacturers continued to advertise such settees in their catalogues until the 1850s.
