Description
Silver and copper oval buckle with central motif in raised silver designed by John Paul Cooper and made in his workshop. Cooper was very interested in symbolism and this leek represents a chrysoprase, as the word means gold (from chrysos) leek (from prason) , describing the particular golden green of the stone. The piece took thirty hours work and was costed at £1 9s 9d.
