Description
Round walnut table on a square frame with four squared and tapered legs designed by Peter Waals and made by Owen Scrubey. Made when Scrubey was seventeen and an apprentice at Waals’s workshop. This piece shows the standard of work expected from an apprentice in the early years of his training. Harry Davoll and Ernest Smith, experienced cabinet makers with Gimson and Waals, described Scrubey as the best apprentice they ever had.
