Description
English oak with back and seat upholstered in brown hide. Probably designed by Edward Barnsley, but possibly by his father Sidney Barnsley as it was made prior to 1930. It was used with the writing desk, 1947.147. Barnsley suggested that the owners bought this piece from his stock. He himself had been using the armchair. It is described in a catalogue from the late 1920s as 'No. 4, Library Chair in oak'.
