M. Lilian Simpson (designer/maker)

Silver plated copper mounts by Lilian Simpson, on a vellum bound book. The mounts were commissioned by the Council of the Art Union of London, and Simpson won a gold medal in the competition held of all the Schools of Art in 1894. The images represent the growth of life, symbolised by flowers and fruit, with Love kissing the buds into bloom.
