Description
Wall mirror designed by Sidney Barnsley for Kenton & Company, 1891. Made in walnut veneered with quarter-sawn oak. This piece, with its combination of curves and straight lines, shows the influence of Barnsley's interest in Byzantine architecture. Barnsley travelled to Greece in 1887-8 and in1890 with Robert Weir-Schultz, another student at Norman Shaw's architectural practice.
