Description
A rectangular, wooden, prayer board with an extension forming a handle on one short side. The handle is of decorative form with a fan-shaped terminal which is partly broken away. Both sides of the board have supposedly traces of Islamic script in ink which are extracts from the Koran, but these are now scarcely visible. Used by Hausa people, the attached label states it is from Obuasi, Asante Region (Ghana). From the collection of Capt Robert Powley Wild.
