Description
A fish trap made from long, flat strips and branches derived from plant material, stitched together with vegetal fibre. One end is cylindrical, the other closes to form a conical end. At the flat end an, off-centre, opening has been created as an entry point for the fish. This entry point is repeated in a similar device approximately half-way along the trap. From this second entry point the trap closes to form a loose conical end. The register states the object is from Obuasi, Asante Region (Ghana). Collection of Capt Robert Powley Wild.
