It is made from a quite coarse fabric with a greyish to buff exterior and black interior. It is decorated with shallow impressed grooving forming zones of chevrons; the neck has small transverse marks probably made by finger nails. The sherds were recovered from forecourt blocking at Notgrove long barrow during excavations by E. M. Clifford, 1934-5.
