Medieval floor tile, earthenware, inlaid decoration with yellow glaze. Fragment from a square tile showing a mythological beast, the cow head and wings are still clearly visible. Earlier 14th century in date from Hailes Abbey, Gloucestershire. Probably manufactured at Hailes. British Museum Eames catalogue design no.1388.
