Medieval floor tile, inlaid decoration with yellow and brown glaze. Complete square tile with shield composed of four vertical lines, bordered by foliate type decoration. The design is the heraldic Arms of Sanchia de Provence, the second wife of Richard Earl of Cornwall and dates to about 1270-77. Probably made and used at Hailes Abbey, Gloucestershire.
