Egyptian pottery pilgrim flask ( buff pottery) featuring an Egyptian martyr of the Christian Church called St. Menas. One one side St. Menas is shown in relief decoration with his arms raised in benediction and a camel on either side of him. The reverse side shows a cross and wreath. These flasks were used for holding oil blessed in connection with the Saint. Dated from AD 400-600. From Cyprus ?
