Jar, a Cretan or Greek stirrup jar. It is decorated with lines around the circumfrance in the middle and bottom third, while there is curvilinear pattern around the top. It has a false spout as the centre piece of the stirrup-shaped handle while the real spout beside it. Found in Crete, it dates from the late Mycenean period. This was the most common form of storage-jar from 1400 - 1100 B.C.
