Egyptian pre-dynastic red pot, c.4000-3000 BC. Blackened around the rim from careful placement in a simple bonfire kiln. Associated with 1993.180 and 1993.182. Such pots are most commonly associated with the Badarian period, although a label inside this pot said 'Earthenware pots, Egypt, c 100 BC'.
