Cabinet on a stand, designed by Ernest Gimson 1902-5. Collector's cabinet veneered in rosewood on to mahogany with cut macassar ebony inlay. Inside are 16 drawers veneered in satinwood with silver handles. The cabinet was made at Daneway by Gimson's workforce, except probably the silver handles. The four-square design and the flush surfaces of the front, rich materials and bold inlaid decoration predate Art Deco designs of the 1920s.
