Walnut mirror with raised inlaid decoration of snowdrops by Oliver Morel. Morel turned down a university place to take up a workshop placement with Edward Barnsley, and worked as a furniture maker and teacher from the 1930s to the 1940s. He and his family moved to Wales after WW2, and later to Moreton-in-Marsh in Gloucestershire in the 1960s. From the 1970s he specilised in pieces with solid inlays using naturally coloured woods. The subject matter was usually local plants and flowers.
