Lengthy press cutting from The Observer of 8th November 1931 and containing an article by G. W. Bishop in 2 parts, having been split over 2 different pages which have been pinned together. The section on page 17 (1991.1016.368.1.a) is headed 'Ellen Terry And Her Letters. Inner History Of The Book. Mr. Shaw Explains.' and the section on page 19 (1991.1016.368.1.b), 'The Sale Of The Letters. Mr. Shaw Consents To Publication'. Bishop's article is based on an interview between him and George Bernard Shaw in which Shaw gives his reaction to a book called 'Ellen Terry And Her Secret Self' by her son, Gordon Graig. Found inserted in the book, A Correspondence between Ellen Terry and George Bernard Shaw when acquired by the museum, shelf W35 (F). Part of the Emery Walker Library.
