Food Ration Card, c.1918
A First World War food ration card, issued under the Rationing Order of 1918. With retailers stamps on the front for Nash, High Street, butcher; Maypole Dairy, 119 and half High Street , Cheltenham, butter; George Mason, 101 High Street, Cheltenham, sugar. There is also a stamp for the Maypole Dairy on the reverse. A thin card with the front printed with a light blue pattern and lettering and division lines in darker blue. Originally part of a larger card, the lower portion having been detached. A counterfoil remains at the lower section of the card. Issued to Charlotte Greene, Painswick Road, Cheltenham.
