Cabinet designed by C F A Voysey in 1899 for Mr and Mrs Ward-Higgs. The cabinet was made specifically for Mr Ward-Higgs' copy of the Kelmscott Press 'Works of Geoffrey Chaucer'. In oak and brass with red suede under lettering and red paint inside. It is a typical example of Voysey's style in the late 1890s, contrasting simplicity of form with highly decorative fittings.
