Earthenware dish with slip combed decoration, made by Winchcombe Pottery, circa 1950-55. It has been fired in the new electric kiln at Winchcombe, introduced after a number of disasterous firings in the original bottle kiln around 1953. Initially, as the pottery didn't have electricity, Ray Finch used a kiln in rented accommodation in Winchcombe itself.
