Silver buckle made in three pieces, the square central piece has the head of a girl in profile designed by Kate Harris and made by William Hutton & Sons. This design was one of the most common figurative designs to appear in Huttons' catalogues. The design is known as the 'Puritan'. It was used on a wide range of objects from 1899 to the 1920s.
