Oak with gouged decoration, designed and made by Sidney Barnsley. Orginally made for the painter Charles March Gere, who was a good friend of Barnsley. He gave it to the stained glass artist Edward Payne. The line of gouged decoration was a feature Barnsley particularly liked.
