English oak sideboard with laburnum handles, chestnut draw linings and plywood drawer stops designed by Gordon Russell and made by Herbert Allaway. This design was made by Russell & Sons as a standard item but this particular sideboard was made for Kingcombe, the house the Russells had built for them near Chipping Campden. It was always kept scrubbed rather than polished.
