'Triangles' chair, ash and elm with chromed metal fittings by Richard La Trobe-Bateman. La Trobe-Bateman's interest is in structure as well as function. The back and seat are cut across the grain by machine, giving a dramatic texture. In contrast, the smoothly turned legs are made by the traditional method used by Ernest Gimson.
