Cushion cover made by Charles Winmill. It has a linen ground with wool embroidery in a leaf design. Winmill was an architect who worked in the London County Council's Architect's Department. He was a great friend of Ernest Gimson, and often visited him at Sapperton. HIs interest in embroidery was probably inspired by his mother. Winmill's daughter recalls that her father invented the stitch for the blue ground.
