Three-seater settee made in ash, bobbin-turned and stained with a rush seat, about 1905. It belonged to the family of Edward Gardiner, who probably made the piece. As a young man, Gardiner was persuaded by Gimson to try his hand at chair-making. He was largely self-taught both at chair-making and rush-seating.
