Standing man of elongated form made of brass on a long rectangular wooden base. The man is poised with a musket pointing towards the elephant (1921.258.5) which fits into the same base. The figure is decorated with incised and punched decoration and has a sheet metal 'tunic' around its torso. Made in Dahomey (Republic of Benin) for the tourist market, although the register states made by the native people of Gold Coast (Ghana). Collection of Capt Robert Powley Wild.
