A carved wooden figurine of a woman seated on an Asante style stool. The head is large with a sloping forehead; the neck with four rolls of fat. Both arms are held straight to her side to support a small child clinging to her back. The child is of similar style to the woman, who has an elongated abdomen and squat legs with small feet complete with European-style shoes. The register states the object is "a juju of cotton wood from near Coomassie" (Kumasi), Asante Region (Ghana). Collection of Capt Robert Powley Wild.
