Rectangular bag made from strips of light and dark coloured leather woven simply together to form a chess board effect. Leather straps and tassels at each corner and in the middle of the bottom edge. The register states the object is Hausa leatherwork from Nigeria, but probably collected in Asante Region (Ghana). Collection of Capt Robert Powley Wild.
