Sword and scabbard from northern Nigeria. The sword has an elongated hand grip with sloping shoulders and no guard. The steel blade tapers to a small rounded point. Wooden scabbard with leather covering and bound with copper alloy wire. The scabbard has two strengtheners and a chape of copper alloy. Collected by Lieut Col Robert L. Beasley DSO between 1901 and 1906.
